Paula writes,
“Jo is the founder of Longe Cote UK, a fitness class at Gyllyngvase Beach where participants lunge through the sea. Longe Cote helps people improve mental health and get fitter. It is a thriving community of support. In Oct 2023, Jo organised an anti-sewage protest that made national press. She met with Feargal Sharkey to discuss how to bring water companies to account.
Jo has also volunteered for her local food bank and Home Start, where she supported a family for 18 months. She now works part time for Home Start as a Family Support Coordinator.

Jo is a community builder connecting people through positive activities whether that is sea exercise, baby and toddler group, beach protests for clean water, she brings people together to engage in a way that makes them feel valued.
Her commitment to clean water and healthy communities is inspiring.
I would not have gotten involved in an anti-sewage protest if it wasn’t for Jo. Despite spending a lot of time in cold water, she emanates warmth!

Jo was born in Cornwall, lives here and is an active community volunteer. She is passionate about clean water, especially at Gylly Beach which is at the heart of her campaign to change the law and clean up the sea.”
