About Tea, Cake and Art

Tea, Cake & Art brings people together every week to be creative, have fun, learn new skills, and meet each other. Within these sessions we explore creative activities such as collage, drawing, painting, textiles and clay modelling in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

A range of local artists join every so often to deliver sessions exploring different materials, skills and ideas. The groups are delivered by experienced Art Centre Penryn staff with free hot drinks, cake and all materials provided.

Tea, Cake & Art is for people aged over 65 who would like to meet and spend time with others in a creative and sociable setting. No previous experience of art is needed, and all activities will be suitable for complete beginners as well as those who already take part in creative activities.

Why join?

We hope that by coming along to this group, you will:
·  Meet people and make new connections in your community
·  Enjoy exploring different ideas and creative activities with others
·  Meet different artists and find out about their work

Who leads the sessions?

The sessions are informally led by Megan Beck and Lottie Matthews. Megan runs Art Centre Penryn and has taught a range of art and design classes in Adult and Community Education. Lottie joined Art Centre Penryn in 2022 and has a background in textile design. Other artists and makers will also visit the group to talk about their work and lead some activities.

Do I have to pay, book or bring anything?

This group is free to join. Tea, cake and all materials are provided. You don’t have to book in advance, you can just come along.
