This exhibition presents and celebrates work by members of our creative social groups: Meet & Make and Tea, Cake & Art.

Since April 2022, the groups have been bringing people together every week to be creative, have fun, learn new skills, and spend time with each other. Sessions explore a wide range of creative activities such as collage, drawing, painting, textiles and clay modelling, all in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The groups are run by Grays Wharf Creative Producer Lottie Matthews and  supported by visiting local artists who share their practice and introduce new skills.

I really look forward to Tuesday mornings, it is such a lovely group. It’s nice to see friends and make new ones. I’m not artistic, but really enjoy the varied activities that we do. We have made some lovely things. We are all valued, and everyone praises each other up. It is very relaxing, and I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t come to the group.

Tea, Cake & Art is for people aged over 65 who would like to meet and spend time with others in a creative and sociable setting. Meet & Make is aimed at supporting mental health and well-being through creativity. We are grateful to the funders who enable us to keep the groups free of charge.
